We are sure all of us as teachers have thought about this question at some point in our proffessions. Let's see what are those characteristics that make a good teacher. Reading them is going to be easier but the challenging part is to bring them into our daily teaching practice.
A teacher:
1. has a good attitude: your students can perceive if you're having the best attitude in class.
2. has passion: there's nothing better than liking what we do, and that's passion.
3. plans: improvisation is out of the question. What are you going to do your next class? Coming unprepared is a way of disrespecting your students.
4. is responsible: being responsible means being the leader of the class. Being on time, ready for helping your students. making sure your classroom is a safe place.
5. is looking for continuous proffessional development: Today, there's no excuse to stop your learning. You can use websites like coursera.org or any other website or institution that offers webinars. Also, there's a great variety of universities that offer online studies.
